The trick to landing Hoowink's combo is to cast Bushwhack first and then use Acorn Shot to create a tree.

However, Bushwhack has a very long backswing (1.07 seconds), so in order to perform a successful combo, the backswing must be cancelled with a simple move order with 'right-click' and then cast Acorn Shot immediately.

This holds true even if you cast Acorn Shot first, since it also has a very long backswing (1.37 seconds).
