As if we weren't experiencing enough volatility in the coffee market.
The US announced sweeping tariffs in early April that went into effect almost immediately. Then reciprocal tariffs were suspended for 90 days, but 10% universal tariffs remain. These tariffs include green and roasted coffee, leaving many American roasters to wonder how this will affect them. There are also broader implications, as the C market price (and markets around the world) have dropped in response. If you're a coffee roaster, coffee professional, or consumer wondering what the f*** is going on with these tariffs and specialty coffee, this conversation is for you.
