Dr. Gigi Osler, President of the Canadian Medical Association (2018-2019)
Dr. Osler is an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgeon from Winnipeg and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Manitoba. She is a passionate advocate for physician leadership, equity and diversity, physician wellness, global health, and virtual care.
Dr. Osler is dedicated to the promotion of global surgery and safe, accessible surgical care. For the last several years Dr. Osler has volunteered on medical missions to Uganda to improve the quality of local health care through education, training, and mentorship to African surgeons, residents, and medical students.
She is Chair of the Canadian Medical Forum, co-chairs a pan-Canadian Virtual Care Task Force, Regional Secretary for North America and the Caribbean,
International Federation of ORL Societies (IFOS), and past President of the Canadian Medical Association (CMA). In 2019, she was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network and a CMA Physician Changemaker. In 2020, the University of Manitoba recognized her with a Distinguished Alumni Award.

Dr. Vicky Nyaiteera, ENT Surgeon and Lecturer at Mbarara University of Science and Technology
Dr. Nyaiteera is an Otolaryngologist and lecturer at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), a mother of two boys and a wife.
She is the coordinator for the otolaryngology program at MUST and the director for the annual Endoscopic sinus surgery Dissection course at MUST. She is passionate about low-cost innovations towards medical education and capacity building in East Africa.
