Watch: Iraq 20 years on: post-war reconstruction

Описание к видео Watch: Iraq 20 years on: post-war reconstruction

On March 20, 2003, the United States and its allies invaded Iraq. Eight years later, US troops pulled out from Iraq after failing to find any evidence of weapons of mass destruction allegedly harbored by Saddam Hussein. Twenty years to the day of the invasion, what has Iraq gotten out of this? What stands between it and a more stable future? "Iraq 20 years on: post-war reconstruction" is a special program co-produced by CGTN and Iraq's Rudaw Media Network. We invited Teng Jianqun, research fellow at the China Institute of International Studies, Einar Tangen, senior research fellow of the Taihe Institute, along with Tania Glee, former member of the Iraqi Parliament, and Shivan Fazi, researcher at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, to discuss the country's security and reconstruction challenges, and analyze the potential of China-Iraq relations. #Iraqwar20years
