The New (2023) Result from the Muon g-2 Experiment

Описание к видео The New (2023) Result from the Muon g-2 Experiment

The Muon g-2 Experiment at Fermilab just released an updated measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. This is an update of their 2021 result which showed a deviation from the Standard Model prediction of 4.2 sigma.

There are many types of new physics that could first show up as a deviation in the measured value of muon g-2 from its value predicted in the Standard Model. So, this result has implications for models of dark matter, supersymmetry, Higgs physics, and others. For this reason, this updated result has been much anticipated.
