Mirror neurons are a type of brain cell that is stimulated when someone acts in a certain way, or experiences someone performing the same action similarly. This rotation between action, production, and perception is important for understanding other people's actions, and coordinating with others on many levels.

Alpha waves have the power to induce a state of rest within our minds which allows for the cells in the sensorimotor cortex to fire in synchrony.
These frequencies are associated with the mirror neuron activity in our brain. When people experience or perform set actions, mu levels are reduced, known as Mu Suppression. This is known to reflect the observation and execution system that helps people understand and mirror others.
