Sediment Impacts on Flood Risk and Uncertainty Analysis

Описание к видео Sediment Impacts on Flood Risk and Uncertainty Analysis

This is an excerpt (so there are a couple abrupt transitions) of a lecture I gave as part of our HEC-FDA class. FDA (Flood Damage Analysis) is HEC's flood risk economic model that computes project benefits and quantifies uncertainty.

1:37 The first section of the talk describes sediment impacts on the classic process relationships used in Flood Risk Analysis to compute project benefits.

6:04 The second section of the talk is more novel, focusing on the asymmetry of sediment impact uncertainty

8:42 Then I discuss the role of event sequence on these sediment impacts.

10:59 Finally, I present a stochastic analysis where we coupled HEC-RAS sediment-transport with HEC-WAT (our stochastic time series generation tool) to run multiple realizations of sediment impact futures.

The latter part of this presentation comes from a paper I wrote with USACE collaborators.
