(8 Jun 2020) Scarred by the deadliest coronavirus outbreak in the nation, New York City gradually began reopening Monday in a turning point in the three-month-long crisis and an important test of the city's discipline.
With the virus in check — at least for now — stores previously deemed nonessential were cleared to reopen for delivery and curbside pickup, though customers cannot yet browse inside.
Construction, manufacturing and wholesalers also were cleared to resume work.
In Queens, one of the hardest hit areas by the coronavirus, Many non-essential businesses seem hesitant to open. Many of the gates remain down on the avenues of the diverse New York borough.  
One business taking advantage of "Phase One" of New York City's reopening plan is, Royal Collectibles.
"Well, we take precautions, We have bleach to bleach down all the handles and everything, We have Clorox wipes, if they don't have a mask. I'll give you a mask."
Said, owner Chuck Marrone.  
Royal collectibles employee's enthusiastically rearrange the store's layout to accommodate regulations, please to be out of lockdown an back to a sence of normalcy.
Jay Lee, Royal collectibles manager, converted the business to an online only service during the lock down, while happy to have been able to keep the business afloat he is ecstatic to be working with his co-workers again.
"Thought that we were in jail for the last, what, two months, three months.
It's been a relief you on not just for the mind, you know, financially and everything...As time goes by, you know, you don't forget. But it eases up a little bit. So now that we're working again, I'm sure it will take our minds off of it."
