Sonata C.49 (Introduzione) – Domenico Cimarosa for classical guitar

Описание к видео Sonata C.49 (Introduzione) – Domenico Cimarosa for classical guitar

Domenico Cimarosa (1749-1801) wrote approximately 88 keyboard sonatas. This sonata is commonly identified by musicologists as C.49 "Larghetto" in the key of C minor. In 1942, the Australian composer Arthur Benjamin (1893-1960) "freely arranged" a Concerto on Themes by Cimarosa in C for Oboe and Strings. The first movement of this concerto "1. Introduzione" is based on Sonata C.49. In 1968, Julian Bream recorded a beautiful and truthful transcription in B minor of the original Sonata C.49 for classical guitar which is now firmly established in the instrument's recital repertoire.

This current arrangement in B minor is a "freely arranged" version of the Introduzione movement.
