This performance features “The Rock Foundry” SDX expansion library for Superior Drummer 3. The MIDI performance was recorded directly into Superior Drummer 3 using a Roland TD-30 drum module and Jobeky electronic drums and cymbals. The drum performance sounds are from the Rock Foundry expansion library using a modified version of the “LA 1991” preset.

I recorded this performance to a click at 110bpm in one take and tried to play a little busier to showcase the sounds of the Rock Foundry expansion. While editing the video, I thought it would be nice to have some kind of musical context and reference to the downbeat, so I added elements of the “E-Check” play-along track from Black Suit Music along with some drum loop layers. The drum loop was produced using the Hip-Hop! EZX library from Toontrack. The “Quest” and “Evident“ presets were layered with additional effects from Superior Drummer 3.
