C/U of an open book which contains photographs of old fashioned underwear. Narrator observes that fashion designers often seek inspiration from the past. C/U of a woman's hand as she paints a fashion portrait of a woman wearing old fashioned underwear or night-clothes. L/S of the woman sitting at a desk working on her design. High angle shot of her painting. Over the shoulder shot of same. She is the fashion designer Kay Keystone. L/S of her standing up and walking off with her design.



L/S of two women standing behind a large counter. Bolts of fabric are stacked on the counter. Kay shows her design to one of the women. C/U of Kay handling a fabric sample. The other woman pulls out a bolt of fabric for Kay to look at. She shakes her head and another sample is shown to her. She likes this one. The two women lay out sample lace over Kay's drawing.



L/S of a room where nightwear garments are being modelled - could also be worn as underwear. An older woman assists the model in arranging her outfit - a camisole top and lace trimmed bloomers. A man sits in a low armchair making notes. Another man joins him. M/S of the first man, he is smoking a cigarette and signals his approval of the outfit. C/U of the model as she poses. She is "pyjama girl" Maureen O'Neil and the camera follows her movements as she bends down to tie the ribbons on the bottom of her bloomers. Another model enters in a more conventional modern night-dress which is called "Moonbeam". C/U of the second man who looks on. As the second model turns to display her outfit, the first girl looks her up and down - not altogether approvingly. Could be used to suggest jealousy.
