In today's episode of the "Ocarina of Time" playthrough, we open the Door of Time, get warped to a future in which Ganondorf conquered the world, win a horse, and race Dampe's ghost through his tomb to get the Hookshot.

With everything that we can currently do at this point in the game done, we finally open the Door of Time and pull the Master Sword from it's pedestal, which only results in us effectively making Ganondorf's life easier. I mean, instead of having to get his hands on all three Spiritual Stones and the Ocarina of Time, learn the Song of Time, and find someone worthy enough to pull the Master Sword from its pedestal, he just needed to sit back and let just such a person do all the hard work for him.
To think, if Zelda's father had also told her about the magical evil-destroying sword that acts as the final key to the Sacred Realm, she wouldn't have had us participate in her flawed plan. Though in the Royal Family's defense, maybe they didn't know about the Master Sword on account of no one opening the Door of Time for an unknown number of generations. But still, that doesn't excuse the Great Deku Tree for not informing Link of that little detail. I mean, the Great Deku Tree was entrusted with one of the three Spiritual Stones and is immortal, so I'm pretty sure that he'd know about the Master Sword and could have told Link to go into hiding with the Kokiri Emerald. But then again, this is the Great Deku Tree we're talking about, a being who felt that it was more important to tell Link about the origin of the world rather than about his own origins.
Though regardless of how Link and Zelda were failed by their parental figures, we now have to navigate a bleak future where Ganondorf's the supreme ruler of the world and awaken five sages so that we can enter his castle and defeat him. But first, we need some gear- a horse for easier travel around Hyrule Field and the Hookshot, which not only acts as Adult Link's version of the boomerang, but also allows for us to grapple over to areas that we couldn't normally reach.
