According to the legend, this is the place where Lord Rama, along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, encountered and defeated the demon Viradha during their exile.

Viradha's Encounter: The demon Viradha, who was once a celestial being named Tumburu, was cursed to take the form of a demon. As per the Ramayana, Viradha abducted Sita during their forest sojourn. Lord Rama and Lakshmana fought Viradha and eventually defeated him. Upon his defeat, Viradha was liberated from his curse and returned to his celestial form, expressing gratitude to Rama.
