Not since the Fender G-dec series have I seen so much functionality as the the dubiously-named Line 6 Spider Jam. It can record through line or XLR, create loops, save abundant user patches with multi-effects, and pump out a big variety of rhythms with bass and other backing sounds. only two criticisms: 1. the chorus effects is way too heavy, and 2. The rhythms are polished but verrrry conservative and a little bit ...square. Apart from that, this is an excellent unit all 'round.
