The anatomy of the lymphatic system changes following some surgeries such as Tummy Tuck/Abdominoplasty and Facelift. This is because tissue containing superficial lymphatics and blood vessels are removed. And tissues are dissected from the underlying muscles.

This means drainage pathways will be altered and damaged.

So, you have to route swelling to alternative Lymph nodes to help reduce swelling and improve healing.
