Many people assume that full-time travel is expensive. We live in an Airstream, and our expenses are MUCH lower than when we lived in a house. As an example, we’ll show you how to visit Telluride without spending a penny.

Okay, your flight, fuel, or vehicle might cost something, but that’s where credit card reward points come in! And that’s another topic.

We travel in an RV, but you could also tent camp in the national forest around Telluride. No travel trailer needed!

Here are all the free things we did in Telluride:
• Camp at Lizard Head Pass
• Stand up paddle board (SUP) on Trout Lake
• Picnic in Town Park
• Hike Lizard Head Trail #505
• Walk the town
• Ride the free gondola at Telluride Station
• Work at the Wilkinson Public Library (ultra-fast WiFi and donation-based yoga in the evening!)

We didn’t even have a chance to do everything on our list…
• Mountain bike Gentleman’s Loop (mapped on MTB Project). Before 9:00 AM and after 5:00 PM, you can ride the gondola up the mountain with your bike for free. Then, ride cross country trails that are predominantly downhill.
• Float the San Miguel River through Telluride in a tube
• Too many hiking trails to name!

There are lots of free camping options around Telluride. We recorded a ton of footage to show you that, but sadly that was part of the footage that disappeared from our GoPro’s SD card. We’ll be back next year, though!
