Kenny Garrett Quartet "Wayne's Thang" - Director/Editor/DOP - Warren Saire

Shooting together with cinematographers David Mallin and Larry Neukum, among others. On a hot Oakland day in August 2005. It was a wonderful experience literally sharing the stage with Kenny Garrett, Carlos McKinney,Ronald Bruner and Kris Funn. Kenny was extremely gracious in the access he allowed me.

On this track "Wayne's Thang" towards the end, a surreally talented Ronald Bruner, begins to carve up beats in a way that is extraordinary. They all were.

Primarilly shot from three fixed camera positions and my own roving camera rig, I wanted it to feel as close to being up there with these guys as it was possible to get, and purposefully excluded the audience from the experience. Mostly. This footage has not seen the light of day for 7 years and there is quite substantially more of it that someday maybe i will get around to cutting into a more feature like experience ;) All acquired SD on DVX100's and edited in fcp-rip. No Grading but Lomo'ed!
