Over the past few weeks, I’ve been testing out the newest addition to ‪@ReolinkCameras‬'a extensive lineup of cameras, the Altas PT Ultra.

The standout feature of this camera is its ability to record continuously on battery power. Continuous recording consumes a large amount of power. Therefore, typically, only cameras connected to grid power can engage in continuous recording.

With the new Altas PT Ultra, Reolink sustains continuous recording purely on battery power with the fitment of a massive 20,000 mAh battery. Combined with Wi-Fi 6 support and the included solar panel, the Altas PT Ultra marries wire-free 4K UHD continuous recording with the convenience of installing anywhere Wi-Fi access and sun exposure is present.

The Altas PT Ultra offers the ability to manually pan and tilt the camera lens on demand to shift the camera’s point of view as needed. To automate the capturing of off-camera activities, users can turn on auto-tracking. This feature enables the camera to follow vehicles, animals, and people when they move out of camera view.

For nighttime surveillance, the Altas PT Ultra features Color X technology, which offers true color night vision in low light conditions. When maximum night time visibility is desired, additional lighting is provided by a set of 6 integrated LED spotlights.

As with other Reolink cameras, the Altas PT Ultra offers the ability to record footage to local MicroSD storage. This not only does away subscription fees, but also enables features like time-lapse recordings.
