In the reveal trailer of Armored Core VI, a tetrapod AC swoops in halfway through and destroys several MTs. Coming under attack from the AC NIGHTFALL, the unknown tetrapod charges its rival and runs straight into an Assault Armor charge. NIGHTFALL then gores the four-legged AC with a Pile-bunker shot, and that's all she wrote for this mysterious AC and its pilot. Just another day on Rubicon...

This AC was custom-built by me based on the unknown AC in the reveal trailer. As always, build shown is at the end of the video. -

Because we see very little of this AC, and it doesn't last too long anyway, the inner parts are a complete guess: keeping with the Balam theme of the frame, I equipped the ABBOT FCS due to the close-range hand weapons, and used the SAN-TAI generator (although the MING-TANG could also work and is arguably better). I settled on the SPD boosters, as while the QBs aren't the best, the good all-round cruising speed gives this hefty tetrapod some solid manoeuvrability for its weight. One thing I forgot to point out in the video is that the AC enters the trailer with Pulse Armor wearing off, so that's what I've equipped as a Core Expansion.

I actually made this AC way back in September and used it to clear my entire fourth playthrough; it's gone through many ups and downs since then. The HALDEMAN shotgun is a shadow of its former self, but still deals ok stagger damage and can clear out the average MT in close-range. The nerfs to the VERRILL legs did hurt significantly, but a buff to the Explosive Thrower's range gives it significant finesse in the heat of battle.

It might come as a surprise but the three weapons actually complement each other quite well: nothing can shrug off an opening DIZZY shot, with HALDEMAN and TAI-YANG-SHOU follow-ups usually leaving most enemies staggered or in pieces (the DIZZY is especially good on a tetrapod frame, especially with the choice of SAN-TAI generator which gives it great airtime). Defensively however, this AC suffers due to the poor SU-Q5 pulse shield and lack of a strong quickboost - the 12345 boosters are arguably a better choice.

All in all, this is a solid if unspectacular tetrapod build, with plenty of room for improvement: I would prefer any half-decent rifle/machine gun compared to the HALDEMAN (due to the buffs to the Explosive Thrower, which can almost allow you to play at midrange), which would make the TALBOT FCS a superior option to the ABBOT, and almost anything is a strict upgrade to the SU-Q5. Even with its negatives, I've quite enjoyed my time with my version of what I call "UNKINDNESS".

| This is by no means a "guide" to show you how to play the AC; I'm sure there are far better players than me who can do more with this mech. If you've read this far and enjoyed my content, check out my preset gameplay showcases, all in one playlist:    • Preset AC Gameplay | Armored Core VI
