Basic information about EPR in Viet Nam. On November 17, 2020, the National Assembly in Viet Nam passed the new Environmental Protection Law, which stipulates Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for businesses in Viet Nam. This means that businesses and producers now bear the responsibility for the waste stage of their products. IUCN Viet Nam acts as Secretariat to the EPR Viet Nam Platform to support its implementation and coordination. IUCN Viet Nam, through its Marine Plastics and Coastal Communities project (MARPLASTICCs) has been supporting the experts' group for EPR and raising awareness of the relevant stakeholders in Viet Nam.
