It it worth $800?│Van Staal Review

Van Staal fishing reels fill a very special niche in the fisherman's toolkit. I recommend most fisherman don't buy this $800 reel.
I've personally owned a van staal VS250 for the past 10 years, and while it has lasted me that long, it has definitely been a love-hate relationship.

Van Staals are extremely well sealed, surf fishing reels made with high quality components and a simplistic design.

What I like about Van Staal:
-The reel can take a beating (sand, salt, elements)
- It's lasted me 10 years
- looks great
- bailess
- maintains value

What I hate about Van Staal:
- Stiff to crank
- The anti-reverse design
- Drag Performance
- Customer Service/ Ability to self service
