Cyclone Dana update: Well marked low pressure area intensifies into depression, lies 730 km southeast of Paradip. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that a well-marked low-pressure area over the east-central Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression. Positioned near latitude 15.4°N and longitude 91.2°E, it is set to become a cyclonic storm by 23 October 2024 and further intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by 24 October. The system will likely impact north Odisha and West Bengal coasts between Puri and Sagar Island.
