Dallas: The Early Years - Digger Barnes tries to kill Jock Ewing

Jock Ewing is an Oilman who built his Ewing Oil company from the help of his partner Digger Barnes. Jock has the head for business and Digger's got the nose, which means he knows where the oil is buried. However, due to Digger's drunkeness, Jock takes his oil shares so that he doesn't spend it all on alcohol. He also wins over Digger's love interest, Ellie Southworth. Digger now blames Jock for his drunkeness and accuses him of stealing all his oil and his girl.

In attempt to kill him in cold blood, Digger attends the Ewing barbecue being held at Southfork and tries to shoot him off the balcony - but he fails.
