"FRAGMENT" - Jesperish x Movsum | Apollo Art Analysis

Created by Jesperish x Movsum, this highly abstract work of futuristic fiction depicts a series of palaces standing strong amongst the sheer energy of form, rhythm, and texture.

Fragments flow from frame to frame under the reign of a higher order.

At first sight we’re stuck by the sheer sense of this surreal scene. The viewer’s initial impression is likely one of stunned shock due to this scene’s scale and energy.

Notice how the work presents a wide range of tones from yellow to green, blue and red. These tones collectively combine to create a unified front that’s almost too much.

One of the key elements to understanding this work may be seen in that of form. We note how countless forms are separated by strict dark lines to present a fractured abundance.

There’s no doubt that this work emits an intense visual energy. We see this energy sourced by multiple elements from form to color, saturation, and even placement.

We can’t help but point to eight main implied lines created by the division of space in this scene. This creates an intense visual weight as the eye falls back upon the center left time and time again.

How do you feel when you view this piece?

There appears to be a palace, castle or construct of some kind commanding the left side of this scene. Jesperish often incorporates these futuristic forms in what appear to be architectural designs.

After a short time you may notice the compass in the upper right region. This appears to be a key to the color scheme of our entire composition.

The impact of this work is quite difficult to describe. Despite this, the sheer sense of energy offered by a multitude of elements makes this work’s experience quite overwhelming.
