VFR Rocky Mountain Metropolitan KBJC to Aspen Pitkin Co Sardy Field KASE Leg 22

La tratta presentava delle difficoltà dovute all'altezza delle Montagne Rocciose. Dopo aver visionato le carte aeronautiche VFR, mi sono accorto che non era possibile raggiungere la destinazione con il bimotore PA34T Seneca V, che mi ha trasportato per quasi tutto il tour fino a Denver. Già in precedenza, ero stato costretto a lasciare nell'hangar il mitico monomotore PA28R Arrow III, poiché, ai piedi della Sierra Nevada, non riuscivo a raggiungere almeno i 9000 piedi di altitudine. Con il Seneca V, la potenza mi ha permesso di guadagnare 1000 piedi, ma a causa di vari fattori tecnici, geografici e meteorologici, anche con il bimotore non sono riuscito a superare i 10.000 piedi. Ecco perché ho utilizzato il Beechcraft King Air 350. Un vero carro armato che permette l'escursione a vista offrendo grandi prestazioni.

The route was challenging due to the altitude of the Rocky Mountains. After reviewing the VFR aeronautical charts, I realized that it was not possible to reach my destination with the twin-engine PA34T Seneca V, which had carried me for most of the tour up to Denver. Previously, I had been forced to leave the legendary single-engine PA28R Arrow III in the hangar because, at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, I could not reach at least 9,000 feet of altitude. With the Seneca V, the power allowed me to gain 1,000 feet, but due to various technical, geographical, and meteorological factors, even with the twin-engine, I could not exceed 10,000 feet. That's why I used the Beechcraft King Air 350. A real workhorse that allows visual flight and offers great performance.
