From the 1971 Reader's Digest boxed album "Stardust", which featured nine records and an additional "bonus" LP of movie hits by big bands.

"Laura" is a 1945 popular song. The music, composed by David Raksin for the 1944 movie Laura, which starred Gene Tierney and Dana Andrews, is heard frequently in the movie.

Robert Mandell (22 August 1929 – 25 April 2020) was an American-born British-based conductor. He conducted family and children's concerts, and stage musicals. Mandell died in Leicester in April 2020, at the age of 90. He had been admitted to hospital following a fall and had tested positive for COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in England.

Reader's Digest LP albums were of very good quality, using the "Dynagroove" technology developed by RCA-Victor in the 1960s and, if looked after, the LPs still provide excellent stereo sounds.
This track was played on a Pro-Ject turntable, recorded directly to computer and digitised using Audacity software.
