Today we give a panoramic look to Medieval India (VI-XVI century), focusing in particular on the political geography and evolution of territorial dominations of the Asian sub-continent and, for this purpose, listing the main local powers of the time.

In the video we describe: the Harsha Empire, the Chaluyka Empire, Pallava, Pratihara, Pala and Rashtrakuta, the Rajput kingdoms, the Omayyad and Ghaznavid invasions, the Delhi Sultanate (and its Mamluk, Khalij, Tughlak , Sayyd, Lodi dynasties), Chola, the Sultanate of Bahmani, the Vijayanagara Empire and the establishment of the Mughal Empire.

Among the other things we also discuss the broad cultural differences within the Indian sub-continent, the relationship of India with Europe, the Islamic world and China, the Mongol and Timur's incursions and how the mutual influence and the competition between Indian powers shaped the models of local government and administration.
