Salvatore Sciarrino’s piece appendice alla perfezione for 14 bells was probably originally intended as an attachment to the trio piece “la perfezione di uno spirito sottile” for flute, voice and airy percussion. As you can see it works perfectly well as a percussion solo piece.

The choice of the instruments is free. I use romanic beehive bells by Michael Metzler (Berlin). Those bells are usually used for medieval music, eg to accompany Gregorian chant.

The recording was made in Franzensfeste Museum (Italy) in August 2022.
