Taiwanese magician Will Tsai caused a sensation on America''s Got Talent, using four Taiwanese 10 dollar coins. Tsai got into magic nearly 20 years ago after his family went bankrupt. This week, he left the US judges open-mouthed. Having brought the house down, Tsai received a standing ovation from both the judges and the audience. Now his video has gone viral on social media and ignited lively discussion. A quick flip of a card on a table reveals the coin previously placed underneath has magically disappeared. It has (seemingly miraculously) moved to another place on the table (underneath another card. ) The (open-mouthed) audience exclaimed again and again in wonderment. The magician on America’s Got Talent is Will Tsai from Taiwan. Will Tsai is 33 years old. When he was 15 years old, he migrated from Taiwan to Canada and around this time began to study magic. He learnt to make a living from magic performances after his family went bankrupt to lessen their economic burden. He never thought that he’d end up setting up a magic company and become the second Asian to appear on America’s Got Talent. Will TsaiMagicianI am honored as there are very few opportunities for Asians to appear on this program. I feel very proud taking the stage as a Taiwanese person. A video of Tsai’s performance was placed on the America’s Got Talent Facebook fan page. By two days, it had received more than 17 million views. As Tsai says, appearing on “America’s Got Talent” was indeed a turning point in his life.
