Zabumba Forró Basics and Technique Lesson 1 - World Drum Lessons

The zabumba is the bass drum used in forró music. This is the essential lesson pack if you are just beginning to play zabumba or want to know more about the forró and baião rhythms and how they are used in a traditional context. This lesson pack will take you step by step through the technique and coordination exercises required to play the zabumba and all of the syncopated parts. We will begin exploring technique and then isolate each hand while playing through examples to help you internalize the rhythms. After getting through this sequence we will put all of the pieces together. This lesson pack includes the Ten Quintessential Bacalhau Patterns for zabumba.
