Te Waihorotiu Station Escalator install

The LinkAlliance team at Auckland's new midtown City Rail Link Te Waihorotiu Station has been working hard to complete the installation and fit-out of three sets of Schindler's double escalators, which connect the passenger concourse level to the train platform level below.

Check out this video showing the extensive work involved from installation of escalator framing, to the fit-out of steps, the electrical system, balustrades, and glazing – followed by testing and commissioning.

Te Waihorotiu Station is expected to be the busiest train station in the country, catering for thousands of passengers during peak hours. Across the station, there will be lifts, escalators, and stairs to ensure accessibility for all.
