At a dedicated facility in Reno, Nevada, Dorman Products constructs high-quality, new-build drive shafts for most vehicles on the road today and ships them directly to installers throughout North America.

Dorman's industry-leading process starts with quality OE-spec components such as bearings and yokes. Drive shaft tubes are cut to length using automated saws for precise dimensions. Components are pressed onto the tubing using an industrial hydraulic press.

Mid-ship straightening corrects initial bends that may occur from pressing after components are welded onto the tubes. After final assembly, each shaft is heat straightened and run-out tested before undergoing spin balancing at simulated road speeds. Balancing weight are then added before finishing.

Multi-piece drive shafts, deigned to make shipping easy and affordable, are keyed together for easy, reliable assembly on the vehicle. Completed drive shafts are packed in reinforced, heavy-duty shipping boxes and prepared for parcel truck delivery.
