Canary Islands EPIC Tuna Spearfishing 4k

Im spearfishing now since 4 years seriously. It is crazy how much money, time and energy you can spend till you catch something decent.

I live in Ibiza a little island at the balearic islands and here it is quite difficult to find big fishes. We have some big groupers, amberjacks, dentex to catch and sometimes big eye tunas but they are not allowed to hunt. I did an apnea course here and I could practice quite a lot.

I started traveling to live new adventures, see new places and new species. Traveling makes you seeing the world from another perspective. You meet people and share hobbies. You forget about your work and it empties your head in a very healthy way.

I decided to spearfish where i go because it connects you to nature and it gives you fresh food wherever you are and everybody is happy about that. I only catch what i/we can eat and only well known species with a good size.

After a few travels i went to Tenerife, a beautiful island at the Canary Islands and i booked a charter day to hunt wahoos and tunas with the rod. The universe was aligned and i met the captain “Jack” on that boat. A very kind and professional spearfisher. I’ve learned a lot with him and i said “i will come back to hunt with the speargun!”.
1 year later very excited i came back and i hunted my first big wahoos. That was a crazy feeling and the taste of that fish was my favorite ever. I’ve tried to catch a big yellowfin tuna but i missed the shot and we didn’t see more. To see this incredible big fishes really fascinated me and motivated me to buy good equipment and come back.

This year in November i flew back to the island, very prepared, excited and hoping to catch a dreamfish. I rented Jacks boat for 3 days with him as a skipper and what you see in the video is what happened. A dream came true..
