North Twin

Описание к видео North Twin

North Twin is a reddish-orange pyramid-shaped mountain peak located in northern Washington, near Mount Baker. The West Ridge consists of about 2,000 feet of class 3 scrambling, although I donned rock shoes near the ridge's headwall and was glad I brought them. Personally, I felt there were a couple of easy class 4 moves on the route with huge exposure. The quality of the rock is superb, with a very rough texture and lots of features, although there were definitely loose blocks here and there. In any case, a helmet is mandatory in my opinion. The standard descent route is to glissade down the North Slope, so don't forget your ice axe. One last thing to mention is that, although I didn't film this section in the video, there was a portion of the descent of the North Slope where I actually put on my crampons and was very glad I brought them for that short section.

The glissade was fun.
