In this video, Dylan from Alarm Grid discusses the available communication paths for the Qolsys IQ Panel 4. Unlike many older alarm panels, the IQ Panel 4 does not include a modem for a "dial-up" connection. There is no place to connect a traditional phone line to the panel. Instead, it supports both WIFI and cellular communication.

Straight out of the box, the panel can be powered and connected to WIFI. Once a monitoring plan has been created, the cellular communicator can be registered, then the panel is ready for remote control. You can control the panel using either the Alarm.com website or app. The app is a free download from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

In the video, Dylan shows you how to retrieve the panel's IMEI number. You'll provide the IMEI to the alarm dealer so that they can register and activate the system. During activation, your Alarm.com account is created. Dylan also shows you how to perform a cellular test and a WIFI signal test.
