I created this poem as a part of my English assignment and tried to enrich it with adjectives, metaphors, similes and onomatopoeia.
To make it more interesting for my viewers, I developed it with added graphics and music.
Enjoy!
“My Rainforest Box”
Inspired by Kit Wright’s The Magic Box
I will put in my Rainforest box
love for lovely, cute bears,
a long, lazy snake, on a tree,
cute, soft cuddles from mama bears.
I will put in my Rainforest box
a red parrot peeking in a owl’s hole,
big bugs and beetles praying to their greedy gods,
huge spiders spying on tasty bees.
I will put in my Rainforest box
hot roaring magma from a mad volcano,
a sobbing river seeing dead trees,
green snakes slithering in the forest floor.
I will put in my Rainforest box
roars of grey cliffs,
food for all baby cubs,
huge, green saplings ready to grow,
panthers make black, dark fury rocks.
I will put in my Rainforest box
panda bears stomping all round,
the crashing sound of the ocean water from the cliffs,
tribes playing and splashing seawater everywhere,
the deadly poison of a snake is an example of death.
I will put in my Rainforest box
white horns of crashing buffalos into each other,
yellow bees dripping tasty honey in their hives,
tribes whacking big bugs in huge wooden houses,
the blue parrot wings resemble as the amazing, blue sky.
My box is fashioned from mud and grass and water,
with deer skin on the lid and snakes in the corners,
it’s hinges are a bear’s lighting sharp teeth.
I shall swim in my box
and help a helpless green, little frog,
then land in the heavens of waterfall.
