Punching Above the Weight: Jackals Against Seals: PART 2 | SLICE WILD

The female jackals nurse their pups for 6 weeks, but the young stay put for three months in the burrow with their mother. During this time, the male feeds his mate. Every day he brings the same dish of the day : seal steak.

Meanwhile the infant seals grow and moult. Scratching themselves all over they get rid of their black down to show off their brown, adult coats. They now weigh around fifteen kilos, nearly 3 kg more than an adult jackal.
