These are 2-inch Olympic grip cast iron weight plates that have a machined center hole. They are coated with a durable black baked enamel finish that prevents rust and chipping. They have three grip holes and raised numbers that help identify the plates weight sizes. They have a good grip and are sturdy. They are versatile and can be used for muscle strength exercises, endurance training, and to increase flexibility and balance.

As mentioned, these are made and distributed by CAP and within this past year I have purchased a pack of 4 5lbs and 10lbs plates.

These are the least expensive of all the weight plates that you can find, the cost is about $1.10 cents per pound, so total I paid about $22 for the 4 pack 5lbs and about $44 dollars for 4pack 10lbs. The packaging was great, individually packed so that they don't get scratched. They were in separate bags, sheets between them, and double boxed. When inspecting, the plates were free from any damage or any defects. The coating is glossy, durable, and they fit great in an Olympic barbell.

Based on my experience with these weight plates, the quality thus far has been exceptional, and the grip design has added a level of convenience to my workouts.

To comparison with other plates, I prefer the grip holes which makes me more comfortable when changing plates.

As mentioned, these plates are great. They have a nice smooth finish, look fairly nice, and I haven't had any paint or chips come off of them. The holes around them are great for hooking with a few fingers, and they slide on and off the barbell easily.

The weights are basic 5 and 10 pound true-to-weight.
-Easy to handle and load.
-Even after some exposure to water & moisture, all is well after about a year.
They are affordable and durable, and you can get a really good deal around the months of January and in December from different vendors.

One small takeaway when buying affordable weight plates could be the quality of the paint and coating finish. You may notice some white "splashes" onto the regular paint in some spots and the coating finish may have small "spike" on the plates that may require small sanding. Nevertheless, your % of receiving a defected plates is very small but it could happen.
