Former Manchester United star Memphis Depay has shown off his new giant lion tattoo following Holland’s defeat against Italy on Tuesday night.

Depay was not afraid to show off his latest artwork on his back following his side’s 2-1 defeat in Amsterdam.

It certainly caught the eye of the opposition who were seen talking to him straight after the game as he exchanged shirts with Italy’s Leonardo Spinazzola.

The 23-year-old already has a tattoo emblazoned across his chest in sprawling italics that reads ‘Dream Chaser’ and is clearly in the mood to show off more designs.

Depay, who owns a camouflage car and has a full-size boxing ring, is certainly becoming one of the most colourful characters in the game.

The Dutch star failed to show his best form for United and Jose Mourinho allowed him to secure a move to Lyon back in January.
Depay is desperate to help Holland qualify for the World Cup next summer, but they are currently a team in disarray after manager Danny Blind was sacked following their defeat against Bulgaria last Saturday.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has been strongly linked with the vacant managerial post, while former United boss Louis van Gaal is also in the running and was spotted in the stands during the Italy game.

Depay has stressed the importance of his team staying together and still hopes to play in the World Cup in Russia next summer.
Depay said: "We have fought for every meter. The game was better than against Bulgaria but it is a very bad week.

"There was a lot going on. The resignation of Danny Blind and fierce criticism we've received.

"We need to regroup - even in difficult times we must remain close together. Let's stay positive and try to keep the faith."
