For some people, silence comes naturally. These fortunate individuals know the power of silence and they are comfortable in that silence. There are quite a few of us who need to learn the art of practicing silence
There are two types of personalities in the world.
There are those who get their energy from other people. In other words, outside of themselves. Aka Extroverts. They thrive in social situations.
Introverts on the other hand, are people who get their energy from within themselves; internally. They thrive most when they have their quiet time, and gain strength from solitude.
The question is, do these two categories of personality types have any relationship with success?
Who is more likely to succeed in life… Introverts or Extroverts?
We’re historically accustomed to thinking of entrepreneurs as outgoing and ultra-charismatic leaders. We think extroverts are more destined for success because they have an easier time dealing with situations that are traditionally associated with successful people; like negotiating, networking and public speaking. Extroverts can often portray an image of confidence and leadership.
So it can be somewhat surprising to notice that truly successful people in the limelight are actually self-proclaimed introverts. For example Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Mark Zuckerberg. And even Beyonce. Yes Queen Bey, the one with the most commanding on-stage presence with her fierce dance moves. Yup, she’s an introvert. If you look at her old videos, you’ll notice that she was always a shy and reserved kid.
So is this all just a coincidence?
Well not really, there are actually a number of reasons why silent introverted people actually go on to become wildly successful.
Being an introvert is NOT a problem. It’s a superpower. Introverts often feel the pressure of trying to be more outgoing. But the truth is, we introverts need to embrace our quietness, because within our silence, lies great power. In fact, Introverts put the ‘Pow!’ in Powerful. Without introverts, the world may not be as rich with creativity and individuality as it is.
In fact, introverts have natural qualities that set them up for success.
So here are 10 reasons why silent people are successful.
