Hiking with Vikings in Norway - Trekanten i Trollheimen

This is a video from a Top 10 hike in Norway - the Triangle in the Home of Trolls (Trakanten I Trollheimen).

We hiked for three days and spent the nights in cabins (hytter), which mark the vertices of the triangle. The cabin names are Gjevilvasshytta, Jøldalshytta and Trollheimshytta and we really enjoyed the hospitality there.
The nature in Norway is inspiringly beautiful, which is why I have decided to record our hike - to share the natural beauty of wild untouched nature. Places like this still exist and we need to make sure they remain as they are for the next generations. So that they can also experience Skyrim in real life and not just in virtual reality.
We were lucky enough to see some reindeer along the way, but for me, the sheep were the highlight of the hike. For some reason, most Norwegians I have met hate sheep (and seagulls), but as an Eastern European city rat, I love their innocent faces and fluffy fur.
My two amazing companions were my boyfriend Daniel and our friend Bjørn, who are both Norwegian so you could say that I have been Hiking with the Vikings.

Day 1 - 21.79km and 636 height meters

We slept at the Gjevilvasshytta and started rather early. The weather was mostly rainy, but it made the air very fresh. I enjoyed testing out my camera a bit to see if it is really waterproof. There were many rivers we crossed, so definitely a lot of opportunities. We did not finish too tired and had enough time in the evening to relax and pet the cows which live close to the second hut, the Jøldalshytta. The dinner was served in one dining room and all the other travelers shared the meal together.

Day 2 - 17.35km and 186 height meters

This day was the sunniest and very enjoyable. There are two possibilities for Day 2. You can take a more challenging hike in the mountains, which is longer and has more elevation, or you can go through the valley, which has more greenery and you get to walk by the river. We chose the second option and ate lunch by a beautiful waterfall. There were many sheep along the way and we even spotted one reindeer. This part, as it was in the valley, had a lot of swamps so I often got what I began to call 'chocolate shoes'.
In the evening, we reached the third hut, Trollheimshytta. One of the best things about it were the dogs who stayed there with us. They were all siblings from the same father (one from a different father) and you can clearly see in the video, which one is the leader. He is constantly vigilant, even when the rest are resting.

Day 3 - 22km and 1091 height meters

This day started with a steep hike on the hill of the Seven Disappointments. It bears that name because when you feel like you are reaching the top, you realise there is another peak waiting just behind it. And this happens seven times. On Day 3, we saw the most snow. It is actually quite dangerous to walk on the glaciers because they are melting from below and when they break beneath you, you could fall through the air and land in an icy river. After the seven disappointments, we reached a beautiful lake, by which we also saw a herd of reindeer. This was something we were hoping for from the beginning, so we were really excited. The final descent was beautiful, but a bit sad because I could have stayed hiking there for at least another week...
On the final descent, our beautiful hiking odour attracted many flies and we were hurrying, quite annoyed, to avoid them so I did not film much and there is not a 'proper ending' to the video. (I know, I know... beginner's mistakes.) After we reached the starting point again, we went straight for the showers in the cabin and then drove to a nearby camp.
It was an amazing hike and I am already looking forward to/planning the next one.
