Explaining psychological problems from a contextual perspective

Описание к видео Explaining psychological problems from a contextual perspective

The most dominant models of psychological health have historically made sense of people’s problems by placing the cause of the problem inside the individual (e.g. problems are the result of syndromes, disorders, faulty thought processes etc). In a contextual worldview, we think about psychopathology from a very different perspective. In this video we will demonstrate how to conceptualise psychological problems from a contextual perspective using a clinical case example. This video will be of interest to practitioners of third wave therapies such as ACT, DBT, or FAP, as well as clinicians interested in Process-Based CBT, or any therapist wanting to learn ways of individualising assessment and tailoring interventions to the individual. Please feel free to share the resource with any colleagues who might have an interest in this area.
