Описание к видео Peak Range National Park | Gemini Mountains | Mount Castor | Mount Pollux

This was a beautiful little Australian Outback hike. Starts by parking at the carpark by the roadside on the Peak Downs highway. You'll follow a dirt road for 2.1km then turn right at the trailhead sign which is a slashed grass trail. I'm assuming if the slashing wasn't done, the trail would be VERY difficult to follow. There are orange trail markers but the grass is thick spear grass so just keep that in mind before heading out there. I think Parks and Wildlife would keep this maintained in winter as summer may be way too hot there. There is one section about 1km in from the trailhead where the trail disappeared as there's a dry gully and the slasher obviously couldn't get down there, but with a little exploration you'll find your way. Quite a few Golden Orb spiders on the bushy sections so hiking poles came in handy!

The trail comes to a fork where it turns into a circuit around Mt Pollux. I personally didn't know it was a circuit until I arrived and unfortunately didn't have enough daylight hours to do the entire circuit but the half of it I saw was just beautiful.

I personally set up camp at the base of both mountains which was lovely and protected from the south-westerly winds. Sunset was stunning!

A very tranquil and peaceful setting.
