If someone believes in Lord Rama, what would be the name for him? No one can tell you this. Let your guru tell you this. If you want to chant the name, but for some reason you don't have a guru... then it's fine, you can chant the mantra that you like for a certain amount of time. But this isn't a permanent solution. You can decide that your mind is a little more inclined towards Lord Rama. My mind is more inclined towards Lord Shankar. Hmm. Then go to the guru who gives the mantra of that god. Go to him and get the mantra through him. And if someone doesn't have a guru, many people come, then I say in the end, chant the Mahamantra. The Mahamantra that I just mentioned, the Hare Krishna mantra, is for everyone, but the proper mantra has to be taken from the guru only.
