A secondary extension can be added to an existing device, allowing it to receive and make calls from different extensions while sharing the same device. Each line will have its own caller ID or extension name and status indicators.

It is essential to note that if you wish to receive calls from both extensions simultaneously, this can only be achieved when using a desk phone. With the app, you'll need to have the desired extension selected to receive incoming calls. I'll demonstrate how to switch extensions with the desktop app in this video

The secondary extension can be set up for an individual user, a shared line, or a ring group.

In addition to showing you how to manage secondary extensions in GoTo Admin, I'll demonstrate how they function with the GoTo desktop app.
