Ep 27: USMC Marine Corps NCO Sword / Recon Jack

Semper Fi everyone. Welcome to latest installment of Recon Jack. I’m your host, U.S. Marine veteran and historian, Chuck Lynch. On today’s episode, I’ll discuss the United States Marine Corps noncommissioned officer’s sword, which is a sword worn by noncommissioned officers, and staff noncommissioned officers. For the ease of this discussion, I will simply refer to this blade as “the NCO Sword.” Most Marines that fall under the category of NCO or SNCO are mandated to take a leadership course. Part of these courses require Marines to complete multiple drills, and one of the stationary drills is Sword Manual. If you ever have the chance to watch one of these drills, whether in person or by means of a recorded video, they’re definitely an interesting event with a lot of work and history behind it.
