"Media Vita" - Medieval Crusade chant

"Media vita" (or "Media vita in morte sumus") is originally a Gregorian antiphon that was written in the 9th century by, according to legend, Notker the Stutterer, a monk of the Abbey of St.Gall. This song will become a popular Crusade song, although it will be used in many other contexts.

"Media vita" (ou "Media vita in morte sumus") est à l'origine une antienne grégorienne qui aurait été écrite au IXème siècle par, d'après la légende, Notker le Bègue, un moine de l'abbaye de Saint-Gall. Ce chant deviendra un chant populaire de Croisade, bien qu'il sera utilisé dans bien d'autres contextes.
