On Tuesday morning, Florida Sen. Rick Scott held a news conference in Naples, FL., to announce new legislation called the School Guardian Act, a new legislation to create safer schools across America.

During the news conference the Florida senator said, "It's going to save lives, that's why I am doing it."

Parents of students who were victims in the 2018 Stoneman Douglas massacre, law enforcement officials and elected officials joined Scott.
