Pope Army Airfield Runway Replacement at Fort Bragg, N.C.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District is partnering with several organizations to replace the existing runway, taxiways and lighting on Pope Army Airfield at U.S. Army Garrison Fort Bragg (N.C.).

This high-visibility $90 million mega-project will have Department of Defense readiness implications, specifically for the XVIII Airborne Corps, 82nd Airborne Division, U.S. Army Special Operations Command and additional units that routinely use the airfield.

The contractor, RC Construction Company, Inc., has already begun preparations for this project, which will replace approximately 40 football fields worth of existing runway.
