Let's review a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse RS! In this video, I'll talk about what the new Traverse is, how I fell about the interior space, and what it's like to drive it.
The third generation Chevy Traverse was completely redesigned, inside and out, it sits on a new platform and received a new powertrain. You can get it either in seven, or eight seating configuration, depending on the trim. Pricing starts at around 39-thousand for the base, 8-passenger, FWD LS and tops at 58 grand for the tested RS with AWD.
The new Traverse sits on GM’s modular VSS platform, shared with the GMC Acadia and the Buick Enclave, and features strut front suspension and a multilink setup in the back, combined with regular, passive dampers. In the case of the RS trim that we’re testing today, the suspension was stiffened up for better handling, but the ride is still compliant.
You can get it either in 7, or 8 seating configuration, depending on the trim. Pricing starts at around $39,000 for the base, 8-passenger, FWD LS and tops at $58,000 for the tested RS. There is also more rugged ZL1 trim available.
All models are powered by an all-new 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder, that delivers 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque. It’s good for around 19 MPG in the city, 24 on highway, and 21 combined.
Both, FWD and AWD variants are paired to an 8-speed conventional automatic and the Traverse can tow up to 5,000 lbs, if equipped with a Trailering Package.
Other SUVs to consider are a Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Tahoe, Toyota Grand Highlander, Hyundai Palisade, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Palisade, Hyundai Santa Fe, GMC Acadia, Nissan Pathfinder, or a Kia Telluride.
